What is Prematurity?

A baby is considered premature if they are born before 37 weeks of pregnancy. This gestational age is a key marker, as those final weeks are vital for organ development. While arriving early presents unique challenges, remember that every baby is on their own unique timeline and develops at their own beautiful pace.

Degrees of Prematurity

Prematurity is often grouped into degrees. Late preterm babies are born between 34 and 37 weeks, very preterm before 32 weeks, and extremely preterm before 28 weeks. Each stage requires different levels of care and nurturing.
